About Us

Who We Are

The Interfaith Funders Group (IFG) is an affinity group of foundations and donors committed to advancing interfaith relations and a team of consultants who are experts in the field who help advise on strategy, communications, fundraising, and more. More than 70 foundations have been invited to participate in IFG activities.

About 40% of the foundations directly articulate an interest in fostering interfaith cooperation and about 40% of them focus on other issues but promote the value of interfaith cooperation in seeking to accomplish other, more primary, objectives (such as helping immigrants, protecting the environment, or advancing human rights). The remainder is learning or interested in developing strategies that consider interfaith cooperation factoring.

IFG is also a team of experienced consultants who help nonprofits and foundations to succeed.

How We Work

As an affinity group, IFG encourages philanthropists in their efforts to improve public understanding of faith and progress interfaith cooperation and religious literacy. We do this through colleague sharing, informative meetings, webinars, research, and reports. As a team of consultants, we offer initially free and then, if more advanced in scope, fee-for-service consultations to those wishing to work in the space of the interfaith relations and religious literacy.

Hear Our Vision

IFG believes that the movement for interfaith cooperation may be as important today as other critical social movements have been for civil rights, women’s rights, disability rights, and environmental concerns, among other things. Philanthropy supports the advancements made in higher education, government relations, and leading nonprofits in this work to vacilitate that vision.

How To Join the Affinity Group

For the affinity group, participation is open to foundations and donors who make substantive philanthropic contributions and demonstrate public interest in interfaith cooperation and religious literacy. There is presently no fee for membership.

How To Get Help for Your Nonprofit

We do not publish information about the funders who participate in IFG and the affinity group does not offer any pooled funding. For the consulting aspects, we provide pro bono advice and sometimes arrange structured, fee-for-service consultations for more extensive work.
